Hamsters

The most exciting news here this week, is that the kids bought pet dwarf hamsters. They have been researching hamsters, saving their money and looking forward to this for months. They are very excited.

Their hamsters are completely white and totally tiny! I will admit, they are pretty cute. They'll climb right up into the kid’s hands and seem to love to play with them. They will bite the kids when their hands smell like food though. Because of this, Shaylin now insists on wearing gloves while holding hers.

Skyler named his hamster Rapaza (he made that up), and he calls him Rapo for short. Shaylin named hers Hamtaro (from the cartoon that she loved when she was little), and she calls him Ham Ham for short.

Macey is fascinated by the hamsters. Her voice goes up three octaves when she sees them. When she tries to say hamsters, it sound like she's saying “monsters”. It's cute.
