Free Kisses

Macey has been sick this weekend. I feel awful for her, but I secretly love it. She is soooo cuddly. She will actually let me hold her and kiss her cheeks all I want. Jason and I have been fighting over her all day.

But poor Macey keeps saying, “Oh my. Oh no. I NO okay. Oh dear. Oh my.” It is precious.

Well, I can hear her waking up. I had better go grab her before Jason does.

We love visitors

My brother and his sweet family spent the weekend with us. It was so fun!!

The kids all fit together perfectly. We hardly even heard from the four big kids the whole time. And we probably got to spend eight hours just talking to my brother and his wife – laughing our heads off. It was bliss.

We went to the Indian ruins here on Saturday. We giggled the whole time imagining how the ancient Indians survived up there naked – farming, grinding corn, running from animals. We decided that that is where the term “ugly naked” originated.

I’m sure that the park rangers thought that we were very mature.

Cousins

Sawyer has so much fun with his little cousin, Miles. They are great friends.

Miles has started telling people that his name is Sawyer. So at church today, he told Sawyer’s primary teacher, “Hi, my name is Sawyer”. Then Sawyer said, “Yes, and my name is Miles.”

When we walked passed their classroom, we could them both making car noises and talking about Lightning McQueen. I'm sure their teacher loved that.

Report Cards

You know, Skyler has always gotten straight A’s at school, but this year his grades started to go down. We talked to him about the importance of doing his best, but he didn’t seem very motivated. So I asked him straight out, “What would motivate you to try your hardest in class? What would be a good reward for you?” He said, “How about, if I get straight A’s, I get to miss school the next day and play Nintendo all day long. I won’t even have to comb my hair, brush my teeth or do one job.” I said, “Deal!”

Well, we had parent-teacher conference on Friday, and Skyler got one A and five A+’s. I think that we figured out how to motivate him.

So tomorrow he is going to stay home from school with messy hair and dirty teeth.

Here you go.

Macey’s phrase of the week is, “Here you go.” She says it all the time. She brings us things from all over the house just so that she can hand them to us and say, “Here you go.”

When we ask, “Macey, do you have a messy diaper?” She points to her bum and says, “Here you go.”

Star Wars Fan

This might sound a little weird, but our little Shaylin is SO into Star Wars right now. She loves the Lego Star Wars Wii game, and she has recruited all the kids in her class to play Star Wars with her at recess.

She likes Princess Leia, but she LOVES Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn. The sweetest thing is that she can’t watch either of them get killed on the movies without crying. She is so tenderhearted. I kind of wish that she still liked Hello Kitty.

Spring Projects

I'm sad that I have had NO time to post this week.

But it is my own fault. I have spring fever, and I am cleaning and painting everything in my house. So fun! I will post some pictures when I finish.

I did just have to tell you what Skyler said today. "Mom, we have a new boy in our class. His name is Juan Carlos. I am pretty sure that he's from China."

Sounds right.

Now I have to go paint my bathroom. :)
